Solid Rosewood Telecaster-style electric with modern appointments: Sold
Being big fans of the Rosewood Telecasters of the 60's, we decided to make another Tele-style guitar in solid East Indian rosewood but with some modern touches and appointments found on new American made Telecasters. It is a striking instrument that plays and sounds brilliantly. Please note that this has been our luthiers' personal guitar for the past year and has been played quite a bit around the shop... the frets have been dressed and recrowned so it shows no wear; however there are a couple of very minor scratches and a lacquer ding highlighted in the third picture below.
Since rosewood is so heavy, the body has been chambered, bringing the weight of the guitar down to a very light 7.5 lbs. The pickups are genuine Fender alnico V pickups as found on modern American Standard Teles. Tuners are Fender Kluson-style vintage tuners. Frets are medium. Bridge is Fender modern-style with individual saddles. Finish is nitrocellulose lacquer like the original made for George Harrison, but with a gloss sheen. Unlike the original, there is a two-way truss rod and an extra 22nd fret as found on the American Standard Tele. Hardshell case is included, as is insured shipping to the lower 48. International buyers please inquire for a shipping quote.
All Shabby Chic guitars come with a 7 day approval period. If you don't like it, simply send it back and we will refund your purchase price. Thanks for looking!
